Criminal (2004)

The con is on.

We meet an amateur con who meets a seasoned con who takes him under his wing (though it's more to his advantage than the young guy). We follow them as they con a few people and then they run into an opportunity of a lifetime. Then things start to unravel. It's hard to say any more about the film and it's themes without giving it all away. The producers also made the Ocean's 11 franchise, so it's a in a similar vein - though not as flashy.

The film is enjoyable and we do sympathize with all the characters, as much as we'd like to think we loathe them too - they are after all used to playing on people's trust. The strength of the film is it's players and a smart story with plenty of twists and turns.
