Chinatown (1974)

I've wanted to see this film ever since I studied the script in Robert McKee's screenplay bible "Story."

Polanski serves up a veritable mystery that heavily influenced later P.I. movies because of its shocking material and less than glamourous subject. Los Angeles never seemed so hopeless.

The acting in the film is excellent - Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, and John Huston steal the scenes together.

Horrible crime is foreign, unimaginable to those with integrity.
