Fireproof (2008)

Based on a best-selling Evangelical Christian book called "The Love Dare," Fireproof is an unashamedly moral tale on marriage today from a Christian perspective.

Non-believing firefighter captain, played by cheesy Christian film standard Kirk Cameron, is having serious problems in his marriage to a hospital PR woman. When they decide divorce is inevitable, the firefighter's father steps in with the love dare - a last ditch effort to save the marriage.

There is plenty of melodrama and overstatement in the film, which is too bad because much of what they state is true: love is sacrifice.
