Transsiberian (2008)
There were two reasons I wanted to watch this film: 1. great cast and 2. Brad Anderson directed it (also directed one of my favorites The Machinist).
An American couple leaves China after a mission trip to take the train through Siberia to Moscow on their way home. They are innocent enough. The story turns quickly as they befriend a young American woman and her boyfriend, a Spaniard.
Without unravelling the story, I can say that the perils and redemptive qualities of humanity are explored in a tense and nerve tingling way. Despite its horror, we see tremendous light.
