Phoebe in Wonderland (2008)

What do you do when your alternate reality is the real world? This informational film tackles the stigma of a particular mental illness (I'll let you watch the film to figure it out).

Phoebe can't be told what to do, so she doesn't make friends easily. She's bright, but she really shines in her school play production of Alice in Wonderland. As she begins to offend others and put herself in danger, her academic parents decide it's time to get Phoebe some professional help.

As I suggested earlier, the film is informational at the root and so it's tough to take the drama and characters to heart. That said, the acting is believable, especially from little Elle Fanning (sister of blockbuster starlet Dakota) and Bill Pullman (or maybe I just liked his character best).
