Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten (2007)

This lengthy bio-doc on the voice of punk icons The Clash presents a very human perspective through Joe Strummer's peers. As he emerges from loss and neglect in his family, bullying at school, and meaninglessness in industrial Britain, Strummer lends his voice to a generation of hurt and energy.

What I noticed is that his struggle against the establishment actually yielded meaning. His philosophy: "Don't forget you're alive."
