Crazy Heart (2009)
Like most western films or movies about people living in the west (country and western) Crazy Heart plays out as very matter of fact story. The power of course is in the transformation of the protagonist - a gritty, gnarled Jeff Bridges playing a washed up country singer. The pee in the bottle makes it all the more authentic.
For a guy who doesn't like country music, the soundtrack is rather good - old country, not new. The supporting actors do a super job of keeping the story grounded in reality, something relatable.
