Edge of Darkness (2010)
This 2 hour flick is an American adaptation of a 5 hour BBC miniseries by the same name.
The plot is relatively simple: A Boston cop is present when his adult daughter is gunned down right in front of him. He begins an emotional and dangerous journey/investigation to find the culprit(s) and deliver justice.
While the film was compelling and delivered on the action part, it felt a bit empty on the emotional level and since the story is so simple, I was disappointed that there wasn't more to the character. A hit man in the story, played by Ray Winstone, had the most depth which is too bad because Mel Gibson's protagonist could have been much more complex - and the BBC character probably was as they had 5 hours to put meat onto his frame.
