Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Guy Ritchie continues his trend of fast paced British films, but backs up a century to jazz up Sherlock Holmes.

Holmes and reluctantly faithful Dr. Watson become entangled in a plot to take over the British Empire. They piece clue after clue until they get their man, very nearly. . . Moriarty will surely linger for a few more sequels.

The film is plenty of fun and the heroes are tainted with their own demons. It does lack the depth other recent hero films have.
