Calendar Girls (2003)

Though this movie is primarily geared towards women, probably mature women, it succeeds in telling a true story in a push-uplifting way.

Set against the green and stone of Yorkshire, Britain, a group of women in their 50s and 60s put together a daring fundraiser. They decide to pose nude, albeit modestly, for a calendar. Filled with mishaps, controversy, and fame, the caper succeeds and eventually is made into a film: ta da!

The film fleshes out every inking of a subplot: cheating husband, awkward son, tension between friends, tension with the WI... Though most of this is probably loose fiction, it's enjoyable enough to watch primarily because it stars first rate actresses. And you can tell that these actresses are having fun, and you will too.
